????Acornic Ventures Travel-Tech Hackathon 3.0 ✈️

Acornic Ventures (Pvt) Ltd. is on a mission to nurture travel-tech startups in Sri Lanka and the region, focusing on Travel, Leisure, Aviation, and Mobility. Our goal is to make travel easier and more meaningful for travelers while enhancing efficiency for service providers.

As part of this vision, we are excited to host the third edition of our Travel-Tech Hackathon, scheduled for 16th & 17th February 2025 at the ???? DHPL Auditorium, Nawam Mawatha, Colombo 02. We invite Sri Lankan universities to encourage up to two teams to participate.

Who Can Join?

• University students passionate about entrepreneurship and innovation.????????‍????

• Teams of 3 to 5 members & Individuals with diverse skills and creative ideas.????????‍????????????‍????

• Final-year students interested in pursuing a startup journey are highly encouraged.????????‍????

Hackathon Format:

1. Pre-event Preparation – Upon registration, teams will receive insights into travel industry challenges. They can choose from our problem statement pool or define their own.

2. Team Collaboration – Participants can switch teams based on shared interests.

3. Methodology – We will use Design Thinking and Business Model Canvas as core tools.

4. Event Schedule – Starts at 9 AM on 16th February, and teams must pitch their ideas by 4 PM on 17th February.

• Pitches: 5-minute presentation + Q&A

• Judges: Non-tech/tech experts from the travel industry.

Prizes & Funding Opportunities

???? Winning Team: LKR 300,000

???? 2nd Place: LKR 200,000

???? 3rd Place: LKR 100,000

(Initial LKR 100,000 will be awarded immediately. The balance is given after a 4-week sprint.)

???? Post-Hackathon Sprint:

• Top 3 teams will participate in a 4-week sprint to refine their MVPs (Physical presence required once a week).

• On completion, they receive the remaining prize money.

???? Startup Investment Opportunity

• One exceptional team will receive LKR 6 million in pre-seed funding (LKR 500,000/month).

• They will join the Acornic Venture Studio cohort and gain access industry giants and industry exposure.

• With industry support, the goal is to raise capital or secure a strategic customer within 12 months.
